Lake Baikal stretches over 700 kilometers in length. A little less than a quarter of the distance is covered by roads along the coast. Most of the shores of Lake Baikal can be visited only in the summer by ship or in winter, by car, when the lake is covered with thick ice. The road simply does not exist here, and you can drive by building roads in the ice yourself. In such places there are practically no settlements, there is no telephone connection, but the nature here has been preserved in its original form. The few people who constantly live on these shores learned to survive in difficult conditions and have long become legends.
